Cirencester Probus Club celebrates 50 years

Although the Club was formed in 1971, Covid restrictions have delayed celebrations, but on Friday the 25th of March, the Probus Club of Cirencester will hold a members’ lunch to mark 50 years of its history. Invitees will include past chairmen and a toast to the Club will be given by its longest-serving member of 33 years, Peter Payne (94) of Ampney St Mary.

Cirencester Probus are particularly proud that, despite the restrictions of Covid over the last 2 years, they managed to maintain their usual programme of weekly talks throughout, reaching members via Zoom, including several living overseas.

The Club is back to normal again, meeting every Friday morning at St Peter’s Court for coffee and a talk and there is a busy social programme for 2022. There are monthly lunches and there will be several outings and joint functions, including a garden party. Chairman Richard Paige and Club members extend a warm welcome to fellow Probus members visiting Cirencester to join in their Friday meetings. Full details of the Club and its activities can be found at www.cirencesterprobus.org.
